Senior Gas / Heating Engineer

Average Salary - £200 per day 

Location - London 

We are a thriving reactive property maintenance company and are seeking an experienced Senior Heating & Gas Engineer to assist in covering reactive maintenance and planned work, for both residential and commercial properties in London and the surrounding areas.

This role is a full-time, self-employed position and the successful candidate will be expected to work Monday to Friday (8am-5pm) as well be added to rota to cover, out of hours, weekends and bank holidays.

All our field engineers benefit from the support of our service desk team, who coordinate appointments, mediate issues and order parts.

We offer excellent rates of pay on a monthly basis, and will provide company uniform, mobile phone, and vehicle (including all fuel, toll and parking expenses).

The applicant will be expected to provide their own hand tools and power tools to complete all relevant tasks.

A track record in a similar role within a property maintenance or field service industry, working in both domestic and commercial properties, is essential. 

The role will involve carrying out all aspects of installations and maintenance at residential and commercial properties. Tasks undertaken will include plumbing, gas and heating/boiler repairs, maintenance services, new installations, emergency call outs and Landlord’s Gas Safety certificates.

Although not essential, ideally all candidates should have undertaken a Gas apprenticeship. 

Essential - Skills / Requirements

- Gas SAFE Registered, with all up-to-date tickets and qualifications
- Similar experience of working within the domestic and commercial maintenance fields
- Installation of boilers and gas appliances
- Full UK Drivers Licence
- You must be able to manage each case to completion
- Effective problem solving & organisational skills
- Able to work well as part of a team 
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and not react adversely to tenants or clients
- Excellent command of the English language written & verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative 
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills & telephone manner
- Organisational and timekeeping skills 
- Ability to evaluate Risk Assessments and Method Statements 
- CIS registered 

In addition it would be an advantage to have planned / preventative maintenance experience such as plumbing and general maintenance. 

Salary dependent on knowledge, experience and shift pattern.
